Connecticut State Law Title 38a Sec. 38a-683 mandates
a premium discount for a private non-fleet automobile under
an automobile liability or physical damage insurance policy for
any principal operator who has attained the age of 60 and has submitted
proof of a successful completion of an accident prevention course
approved by the DMV.
The DMV Phone Center will take a message and the
customer will be called back as soon as possible with a list of
approved courses. The minimum discount is 5% for a period of two
years. Many insurance companies give a discount of more than five

Satisfactory completion of a motorcycle rider education course qualifies
the individual for a 10% discount on liability insurance under Connecticut
